Some pictures for you taken October 3, 2002.


1. Parked at Middlegate.

2. Smith Creek Valley - Toiyabe Mtns in background, left of center is
Bunker Hill at 11,474 feet and right of center is Toiyabe Range Peak at
10,960 feet.  Shoshone Mtns in forefront across Smith Creek Valley.

3. Shoshone Mountains across Smith Creek Valley.  Right of center is
North Shoshone Peak at 10,313 feet.  The water pond and trees are part of
a ranch that utilizes the area for raising cattle.

4. Shoshone Mtns across Smith Creek Valley and down to Ione Valley. 
Right of center is South Shoshone Peak at 10,052 feet.

5. Ginny at the 6,400 foot elevation point along the east foot of the
Desatoya Mtns.  The Toiyabe Mtns are within view across Smith Creek
Valley.  We stopped along old Hwy 50 which is called the Carroll Summit
route.
